Very heavy period Advice needed please

chillyourboots · 26/10/2014 12:42

So iv had alot of problems over the last three months with my periods, being on for extended time. 40+ days. Iv been on various medications for the bleeding, some have worked, some haven't.

Iv got a internal scan booked in for Friday the 31st of October

I have recently come off of one, got told to stop taking it when the bleeding stops.

Today, the period is very heavy, got two night time pads on and changing every hour, my pee is just red and lots of blood down the toilet [Sorry]

I'm in alot of pain, unbearable, but have taken being taking paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Is it worth going to the hospital?
Will they do anything?

Many thanks

Oh, I can imagine. It's pretty standard so don't worry. They know you're bleeding so it will be red.

JubJubBirds · 27/10/2014 21:48

Still there OP?

LadySybilLikesCake · 27/10/2014 22:14

Hope they are looking after you, chilly Thanks

Just out.

Blood pressure and Oxygen were fine.

Because I was red in face, doctor said that I can't be anemic.
Which is funny really as my gp only done bloods for that 2 weeks ago and I am.

So on my way home.....Confused

#Facepalm.

Go back if you start to feel more unwell and order them to check your bloods! If you were anaemic before the bleed, you'll be more so now.

Sorry to hear about your troubling issue :-/ I wouldn't accept what the doc told you with regards that "they can't do anything" .... if I had a pound for every time that iv'e been told this and the doc ended up being wrong id be a rich woman!... Keep pushing to get seen and don't sit back.. you have to keep at them until they do something unfortunately.. I hope everything is ok.

I mentioned this on another thread, but my bleeding was caused by my underactive thyroid. Since thyroxine doubled, the bleeding has stopped.

Hope you feel better soon.

I have fibroids. My GP stuck me on cerazette and I get the odd hour of bleeding here and there but it's nothing like how it used to be.

Hi OP. How did you get on at your scan today?
Tell me they are doing something to help you?
