Pre-mature Physio. Discharge? Opinions Please

I have been working with a physio. for around the last three months. This was due to a surgical adhesions in my abdomen and breaking my back twice in short succession.

Progress has been gradual and I have been routinely doing physio at home as well as the weekly sessions. For the first time in three years I am nearly pain free! I was starting to get movement in my back muscles and flexibility was returning. I was starting to feel coordinated and balanced again. Pain is managed with tablets and TENS machines.

Then last week I broke my foot and now have crutches, (which I can't use because of the lack of strength in my back) a cast and walking slipper. I shouldn't weight bear; but crutches would put me back to square one.

Because of the extra injury I have lost my place at physio.

I can't help thinking that my discharge has been pre-mature. I can walk (of sorts) and weight bear (of sorts). I am still doing my back exercises - mostly without adaptations.

Do you think this has been a pre-mature discharge?

Welcoming opinions

I'm an OT but know/work with tons of in and outpatient physios.

I don't think without knowing everything from both your and the physio's perspective it's possible to comment on whether it's a premature discharge or not. Have you spoken with your physio about why you were discharged? Are you sure you haven't just been put on hold until your foot is better, after which time you'll pick up (as close as possible) to where you left off?
