regualar poster and all that - judgeflounce, lemon drizzle cake, the bat etc

obvious embarrassment

have been with DH for over a decade and we have children but have always used condoms for protection when not trying to conceive

have finally arranged alterantive contraception and last nigth for first time had sex without condoms. fine during but afterwards it was burning, and needed a bath and burning still lasted for about 1/2 hour

dh on medication since we last conceived child could that have changed acidity of sperm? or cold it be due to being on pill or something else

Ive had that after ive slept with people before. I just thought it was cause it wasnt 'compatable' or something.

SensitiveOne · 01/10/2006 19:09

but thsi is DH not a stranger - yet another reason to avoid sex

Hmm, no idea - it's not something I've ever experienced

foxinsocks · 01/10/2006 19:12

mmmm have sometimes had that before (i.e. before dh)

could it be that you have thrush or another infection and the sperm has irritated you?

or were you (excuse totally intimate question) perhaps a bit dry down below and it's sort of rubbed a bit and the sperm has irritated that?

Seashells · 01/10/2006 19:13

Could it be possible that 'it' could have got perfume or something on 'it' and this has irritated you?

KellyKrueger1978 · 01/10/2006 19:13

yes you can. you need antihistamines. as long as you are sure the burning isn't from friction.

I have to admit I'm not entirely sure if this post is a wind up!

we did use a bit of massage oil in foreplay but it was pure base with no essential oils added - could've been that I suppsoe?

can categorically state as a regular and long-time poster this is nOT a wind-up

sound like it was the oils. get some lube instead.

I'm sorry, I believe you. Hope you get it sorted.

foxinsocks · 01/10/2006 19:17

what medication is dh on?

Seashells · 01/10/2006 19:19

We played with baby oil recently, I thought this would be safe and gentle but I was in agony for days after, so maybe it was the oils.

SensitiveOne · 01/10/2006 19:22

hope it was the oil - but can't see how it would have been

he is on medication that they advise we shouldn't try to conceive while he's taking it which is why i wondered about it affecting the sperm - although don't know if that is naive

foxinsocks · 01/10/2006 19:23

I would call the GP and ask - if they have advised you not to conceive on it maybe it has affected his sperm. Definitely worth finding out.

Elibean · 01/10/2006 19:35

I've that once - under identical conditions, ie dh on meds and us not having had non-condom sex for ages. I never knew whether I had developed a temporary sensitivity or whether it was something he'd eaten/taken! But it just went away within the next couple of, ahem, attempts.

My one-time boss, on the other hand, had an 'allergy' to her dh's sperm: ie her body killed them off. She certainly never had any symptoms, other than being unable to conceive....once she was treated for it (some sort of desensitization program) they had a baby boy.

HTH!

tribpot · 01/10/2006 19:53

A friend of mine had this (yes, really a friend, not me!) with her ex-DH (not why he was ex, at least I hope not). Would eliminate other possibilities first though - I mean massage oil not other people you might be intimate with
