Never had any trouble before dc, regular as clockwork didn't really notice them. Since dc very heavy, no longer use tampons, bit chain saw massacre :( since dc3 they come every 2.5/3 weeks lasting 10 days and I'm just shattered. He's 18 months now, finished bf 6 months ago. I'm 41 but not sure if I should see GP but after flooding again on day 10 I'm feeling very grumpy :(

Go & see the Dr, you might have become anaemic. Also if they are heavy you can get transexamic acid or mefanamic (sp) acid on prescription from the Dr. Both of those reduce bleeding. I expect the Dr will suggest you get a mirena though as they usually stop periods/reduce them. Be prepared for this so you can ask questions at this stage. The Dr won't try & fit a mirena at this appointment, our GP practice didn't even have a Dr who could fit them at all but sent me to a Family Planning Clinic (some years ago).

Thank you, think I will book for GP. I'm ready for coil talk, I had to do battle as to why I wouldn't have one after all 3 dc! Still adamant won't consider it (even though no longer bf now) so will look at other options Smile

I wouldn't have one either - I am v open with friends and I think half my friends have loved them & the other half have loathed them, I didn't want to take the risk. One friend developed dreadful rosacea, another has a 13 year old.
