I'm fairly sure I have Endometriosis.

A lifetime of crippling period pain. Ovulation pain. Pineapple in the rectum. Diarrhoea. Puking. Shitty hormonal bollox.

About 10 years ago I had a laparoscopy that was inconclusive.
GP refused to refer me to a gynaecologist because I don't want a mirena coil. But did refer me for a scan 2 weeks ago that showed possible fibroid changes and my left ovary has gone awol.

I can't take combined pill (old, fat, migraines). POP made me weird and depressed. Copper coil hurt for the entire 2 years I had it.

Cycles are 20 -24 days. I am spending at least 2 out of 3 weeks taking painkillers and miserable. I can't sleep. I hurt. I'm crap at work and have had enough.

so. Back to a different GP today who actually listened and has referred me but also pushed the mirena again.

I'm fuzzy and confused and don't know what I want any more.

Any advice please

Those symptoms speaking as a fellow endo sufferer are very familiar to me (particularly with reference to pineapple in the rectum otherwise known as javelin arse). It took me many years to be properly diagnosed with it as well, I now realise I've had this since the start of menses at 14.

The above is a very good website that I would suggest you take a look at.

I am glad to read that you have been referred; this is not a problem that GPs can at all deal with. Would never use a Mirena coil either.

Would suggest too that you keep a daily pain (note this in terms of severity from 1-10) and symptom diary if you have not already done so as this will also give the gynae clues. You ideally need to see someone who has a specialist interest in endo, ask them about this and seek a second opinion if needs be.

Thanks. I'll do a diary. I'm dubious about the mirena. Will wait to see what consultant says. (I have insider gynae knowledge so chose the one I think most suitable)
