They'r four and two and a half.

I have health anxiety, and as such actually under-visit the doctor as im vey aware of how paranoid i can be. I had been happy accepting that they just naturally had watery poo (they have no illness with it), til the youngest had bright green bile-like poo recently, two separate occasions a week apart.

Both are now off nursery til gp confirms that it is nothing contagious. She said odds are its something like an intolerance or coeliac, or possibly even crohns (big history of autoimmune stuff in all bits of the family tree). Both of them are already under the genetics team for showing signs of my hms (which can also cause gastro issues, hence my minimising...)

So, hmm, dont know what this thread is for... Anyone have similar experiences?

Yes! Am dealing with this right now and my son is nearly 11!!! We have consulted the same paediatric gastroenterologist privately twice over the years. First when he was 2 and got told it was toddler diarrhea. The second time he was 6 and diagnosed with "squash drinking syndrome" which I wasn't convinced by as, although there was an initial improvement reducing squash, it didn't last. Both times they did general blood tests and examinations as well as cealiac blood tests, all of which showed nothing. We were even told they may never get to the bottom of it (pardon the the pun) as it may be a normal varient for him. I came to accept this as he is otherwise fit and healthy and a normal weight and size for his age so clearly absorbing his food. I only decided to look into it again as I sensed it might be embarassing for him as he gets older.

The gp has ordered bloods and stool samples with a view to referring to a paed depending on the result. We can't afford private this time and have been told the wait could be a couple of months.

I also have health anxiety and have tortured myself with scary possibilities which I won't go into here, especially as there have been 2 muck ups with the stool sample and we have to do it yet again - my heart was in my mouth when the gp's number flashed up on my phone! Bloods should be back next week.

Rationally I doubt it's anything serious as he has had it all these years without getting worse or having any other symptoms but it's the what ifs........

Could be EDS? I have similar issues to your two LOs and have done all my life and I have EDS Type II. EDS causes hypermobility plus autonomic issues, gastro issues, chronic pain, neurological symptoms... Get them referred to paed gastro through genetics-there is medication that can help.

My hms is suspected eds, i have every other issue you can think of. Have seen the genetics nurse - just waiting for the consultant appt. Did mention to the gp that this is why theyve had it so long and ive not mentioned it.
