I'm not sure if this is a prolapse, or what... Anyone want to guess?!

Right, I've noticed during my last few periods that sometimes (but not every time) it feels like I can't get the tampon in properly. It either feels a bit 'stuck' or uncomfortable like it's not in right. Sometimes after a couple of hours it feels like it's falling out too.

So I've wondered prolapse and had a look but to be brutally honest I can't tell if it looks normal or not! But:

Sex is ok and not uncomfortable
I don't leak urine ever, not during exercise either
I can hold my wee mid-flow

Would this rule out a prolapse? Have I just got a weakened pelvic floor? Don't know what pelvic floors I'm meant to do Blush

Btw have had 3 DC one of whom was 10lb+ at birth. All vaginal deliveries.

Thanks!

I had a prolapse and could still hold my wee fine. However I felt uncomfortable inside (was never brave enough to actually look but the gp confirmed it) and I also have a mild rectocele and cystocele (floppy bits from bowel and bladder sagging in... still have them)

I'd say, go to gp and let them have a prod! It may be you have a mild, very liveable with prolapse , and in which case pelvic floor exercises and not straining may help! I eventually had a hysterectomy as had hideous periods too (four children very close together and my body is knackered!) but I had definitely finished my family!

I couldn't use tampons tho..just as you describe , so definitely worth getting checked. You may be referred to a gynae physio to teach you how to do your pelvic floor exercises properly :)

I agree, go to your GP to be checked over, if it is mild prolapses the gynae physio can help prevent them getting any worse, as well as advising on exercises they can look at your other risk factors / lifestyle and give you appropriate advice. I lived with a cystocele (bladder prolapse into vagina) and rectocele (rectum prolapse into vagina) for several years following a forceps delivery with no problems other than tampon difficulties but then it all got worse and I had (successful) surgery. If I'd had proper advice from a physio I might have been able to avoid the need for the surgery.

Thankyou so much for your replies Smile
You've convinced me to book a gp appt. yes, it may be 'liveable' with now but I need to think ahead.
