Breast Vein

Sallystyle · 06/10/2014 15:40

My mum found a very noticeable long vein on her breast which she said aches every now and then.

I looked at it and it is dark and noticeable. She said she found it about 8 weeks ago. Didn't cross her mind that it could be a sign of BC, which I think it can be?

She has a mammogram booked for next week so she said she will wait until then. Is this something that she should see her GP for sooner?

I haven't heard of visible veins as a sign of breast cancer. It is a pregnancy symptom though!

I googled it and found out that it can be a sign of cancer.

Def not pregnant as she has no womb!

I think some places say it can be. I have always had one and been checked out and told it's just that as we get older the skin thins.

Fx all ok x

If she's booked in for a mammogram next week I'd ask about it then, even if she went to the GP before they wouldn't get her in before then. Fingers crossed all is well

Thank you.

It's the pain that worried me too, which I think might turn out to be a good sign. It is only on one breast.

The thought of my mum has cancer just doesn't bare thinking about! Three of my children lost their father last Xmas and two months later they lost two grandparents to cancer, I don't think they could seeing another relative.

I am a hypochondriac so things like this worry me more than it should but it did look very strange just having one very long protruding vein.

Google always gives the worst prognosis though doesn't it?
