Snoring- any ideas??

DH, 52, snores. Not earth-shatteringly but enough to keep me awake for hours. He does carry a bit of extra weight around his middle which I have suggested doesn't help!

He acknowledges this but wants to know if there's anything he can do in the short term to stop. He bought a wrist band that connects to the skin with electrodes that is supposed to give him a twinge when it detects snoring but it doesn't seem sensitive enough. As in 'it doesn't'!

Any ideas before I kill him? Grin

I snore when I drink alcohol and in the past when I smoked. Also when I'm overtired. Certainly losing weight may help and is a good idea anyway (said the pot to the kettle!).

Snoring can be indicative of other problems so may be worth a chat with the GP.

Watching with self-interest! I am sooooooo fed up of having to leave my very comfy bed because of the walrus-on-heat bellowing next to me.

He's seen an ENT person who's said he has a narrow eustachian tube, which might be it, but he's never been a*sed to go back for further treatment. Sorry. That was harsh. But I'm tired! Again!

My DM snores too and she has one of those machines which seems to work well. Though I'd find the noise of that next to me irritating too. DP tried the mouth guards but just spat them out in his sleep. I got him an anti-snoring pillow too but that didn't make a difference.

Rhinectomy?!
