Ahhhhh......... I have just had to deal with cold shoulders and evil looks...even by the teacher!
My 1 year old dd had chicken pox 2 weeks ago.... other dd (5) and ds (3) showed no signs of getting it so off they went to school and nursery as normal. 2 weeks to the day my 1 year old came out in spots the other two broke out in them too.
One mother was stood outside the school gate today with one of her dd who was...yes...covered in spots! muttering to another mum that it was all a nightmare as they had a wedding to go to in a week and her other two had't got them yet, throwing me daggers as she said it.
Was I supposed to keep my other two off school for two weeks incase they did get it?
Am I right to feel cross about this...I can't see it is my fault! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh FGS - everyone is going to get chicken pox at some point and we have no control over when it will be. Some kids get it but their siblings don't. Throw their daggers right back! You can't keep your child off incase they are carrying it. You could sit next to someone on the bus or whatever - that's how viruses are passed on. Don't feel bad.

Oh poor you Lucybug. This is a difficult one. You couldnt be expected to keep your other 2 off school for 2 weeks, surely? And anyway, IIRC, chicken popx is only contagious for a few days before the spots appear, so there would have been little point in keepinig them off all that time. I dont know if schools/nurseries have a policy about it (mine had it when they were tiny thankfully - altho were both v ill with it). Try not to let it get to you. Easier said than done I know... But this is probably a no win situation for anyone

i took DS1 to a birthday party and he broke out the next day, i had no idea he was "sickening" when i took him to the party.
It went round his school (twice).
I dont think its in any way your fault, and your dd got it from somewhere, are you going on a witch hunt to see where she got it from? thought not!
