Experience here.. I had my prolapse at 29 after my 4th child was born. In my case I had had three children in two years (!!) and the final baby 3 years later was quite large and I think finished me off!
I lived with the dragging sensation for several years, and it DID improve after seeing a gynae physio and doing a ton of pelvic floor exercises, but in the end I decided that as I wasn't having any more children (no 4 was an accident!) I would go for surgery.
There are different types of prolapses, and your first step will be referral to gynae to check it out.. I had bowel and bladder rectoceles (bulges in) and a womb prolapse. Depending on what you have there are a few options..and they don't necessarily rule out another child. They can hitch up the parts with a mesh, or they can do a hysterectomy if you have finished having babies.
There are also 'temporary' fixes ..a ring which is placed inside you and literally props it up (can still have sex etc!)
I was 35 when I went for my op..and had a hysterectomy (still have ovaries tho) It was a massive relief.. tho it was an abdominal op because for some reason keyhole wasn't suitable for me, it was fine.. I went back to work after 6 weeks, and it was the best thing I could have done. I still have the rectocele and cystocele but without a hanging womb, it's ok..no discomfort unless i get constipated!
My sex life is absolutely fine..and was before the op... we were just a bit more gentle on entry (sorry TMI but I figured you might want to know!)
You are not alone.. or even unusual in this, so please don't panic.
