Sorry. You have been warned...

After dh and I have had errr relations my fanjo smells sort of fishy. Even if it's ahem fingers instead of penis and even after a shower.

I really don't want to go and see my dr who is a male and not far out of childhood

Am I alone? Has anyone else been able to solve such a problem thenselves?

Have you tried googling those symptoms?

lk26 · 11/09/2014 20:59

I think it could be bacterial vaginosis ! I had the same thing a few years ago. Christ the smell was like Grimsby docks !
I was in a new relationship and having lots of sex and then the smell appeared. It's not sexually transmitted. But you can get treated by the doc easily. Smile

Also think you can get stuff from pharmacy to treat it.

Read up on BV.

SoyaTea · 11/09/2014 21:02

Bacterial vaginosis perhaps? (hope I spelt that correctly!)

Anyway, that is usually said to emit a fishy odour. I think it can clear up on it's own, but it's best to take a short course of antibiotics. Best thing is to get some swabs done.

Grimsby docks Shock

God. Awful. Blush

It perhaps could be bacterial vaginwhatsit. Symptoms seem to match

Dear god.

I wish there were doctors you could see incognito

I didn't have to have an examination when I went to docs. Just told him symptoms and got my prescription. Easy.

LuluJakey1 · 11/09/2014 22:56

Go to a GUM clinic or Family Planning clinic. Instant treatment, not your GP. At GUM you don't need an appt usually.

Jumpinginside · 11/09/2014 23:36

Tescos sell stuff for BV called Balance active BV. It contains several tubes of stuff that you sort of squirt up there. If I remember right you have to use for a few nights in a row. Cost about the same as a prescription. A good option to try if you are embarrassed about seeing your gp. You shouldn't be embarrassed I'm sure he's heard it all before. You could always ask to be checked by the nurse.

CarbeDiem · 11/09/2014 23:59

Go to a GUM clinic OP - if it is BV, nothing gets rid of it completely apart from heavy duty anti -B's. It's not a STD but you can pass it to a partner who can then pass it back, in the same way you can with thrush if it's not treated properly.
Some places can check while you're there for it under the microscope. The one I went to did. I had BV because Dh scratched me accidentally so once it was confirmed, I was given a pregnancy test to check, as the tablets are dangerous to take in pregnancy - once ruled out I was given a prescription.
