DD2 has a rare skin condition and we been advised for her to have her MMR as a day case at the childrens hospital just in case (of what i'm not 100% sure).

just wondering if anyone else has been through this and could let me know what it will entail.

My ds had a bad reaction to the second of his triple jags, (DTP) and had to have the third one in hospital. He was given calpol 30 mins before the jag, then stayed in the hospital all day and was let home at teatime with no reactions at all - total fraud! He had spiked a temp of 41 following the 2nd jag and had a convulsion. He has had 2 FCs since then but not related to any jags. He had MMr, booster etc no trouble.

My ds had mmr as day patient, had to be there at ten then had to wait for all clear to have jab it then took about an hour to be ordered, a doctor then gave him the jab and we had to be monitored for 4 hours.
This was because ds has severe egg allergy all turned out ok he was a bit sick and came up in slight swelling but went home ok.

Is it possible for an egg allergic child to have the flu jab done in the same way, does anyone know?

Heartmum2jamie, there is no chance of flu jab as it 100% contains egg where as mmr has only a very slight risk if ant at all.

Thanks Chlochlo! I guess we are sticking to the pnuemovaxII and trying to get the rest of us flu jabbed to protect ds2 better

Is pnuemovaxII safe foe egg allergy sufferers or will it be another hospital job?
