Tremor

I want to be clear I'm not expecting any of you to diagnose me - but I am worried about something

I'm getting a tremor in my left thumb at different times - over the past year. Say about 5 times in last year. It happens sometimes when I am stressed. It has woken me overnight on one occasion. It happens for no obvious reason, and when I'm feeling relaxed.
My hand isn't in a particular position when it happens. The tremor stops as soon as I pay attention to it, and it only lasts a few moments.
I am under stress - two of my kids have chronic illness.

Should I see my GP? I worry about very early Parkinsons. But there's no family Hx, and I have no other symptoms. I'm mid 40s
I realise it's probably just stress - but can't help but worry. Any advice?

Should have added - it is a fine, barely noticeable tremor. I feel it more than see it, and as soon as I look at it, it stops

The fact that as soon as you look at it it stops would suggest to me it's not really a tremor, but I'm not medically trained... Sounds more like a muscle twitch?

That would be reassuring. I think I'm calling it a tremor because it lasts a few moments. Any muscle twitches I've had before have stopped even more quickly.
Thanks for replying. I really needed to air the anxiety so I can try and forget about it.

Hi. I've had this on and off for years. I'm also in my mid 40's and it's exactly as you describe. I really worried about it at first but I think the first time it happened was about 7 or 8 years ago so I now feel that if it was due to something serious then something else would have happened by now.

Thank you. I do think, if it was something to really worry about, then there would be more going on.
I'm fine otherwise- so probably best ignored.
