Unsure whether to see gp, hip issue

Right this might be long!
One of my hips doesn't rotate add much as the other (so I don't know if one is tight or the other loose! )
My right hip is much more flexible, I can sit with my foot tucked under me, if I'm lying on my back my right foot can comfortably go to the three o'clock position (I can even just get my foot behind my head!). In the past, and still occasionally this hip will ache, especially if I have done alot of walking or on steep hills.

My left hip doesn't cause discomfort, but is much tighter. For example, if I sit in the floor & place the soles of my feet together and knees outwards, it's very uncomfortable to get my left knew to touch the floor (right one will) and lying on my back, I'm unable to rotate the left hip so the foot points out.
I was having a massage last night (bliss!) and she suggested possibly going to gp, mostly so it captures a snapshot for the future. But it's not (currently) causing any real issues.

opinions would be gratefully received. and well done for getting to the end!

Sorry never thought of putting my age, ha! I'm 30 and otherwise in good health, ideal bmi, could be fitter! No other physical medical issues. I played rugby a bit in school and wad in cadets as a teen but that's about it.

God I'm exciting eh!Grin

It sounds as though you could do with being referred to orthopedics to see exactly what's going on with your joints. The fact that pain is intermittent doesn't really matter - at 30 it should be investigated.

I'm similar in that one hip is much more flexible. My gp sent me for an X-ray which showed nothing, so I've just been trying to improve via Pilates etc. Physio sounds like a plan too.

Well I'm just back from seeing the GP, he has referred me to see a physio! So glad it wasn't dismissed (like it was n the past). Phew! :)
