Pains in the lower abdomen. Infection?

I've been having pains in my left hand side, in the lower abdo region for the last few days.

Not sure what they are, but wondering if it is something to do with either my ovary on that side, or the fallopian tube I had surgery on about 20 years ago when dh and I were ttc.

Basically the tube was turned inside out and sewed back in via microsurgery, due to being partially blocked. I was informed at the time that the tube will close after a couple of years from then.

Anyway, no children came along and I eventually started to use Cerazette to eradicate heavy periods. I haven't had a period now for about 10 - 15 years due to taking it all the way through without a break.

I'm not sure if an egg is trying to get through the (now closed?) tube, or if its an infection? I know it sounds daft as it was such a long time ago, and I'm on the Pill, but can't think what else it could be. Its not a sharp pain as such, but its there, sometimes intermittent, and sometimes spreads to the top of my leg. Any ideas? This is the first time I've experienced this pain in that area.

Sorry its long, trying to put as much info in as I can.

Get this checked out, you should not be having such pain and any such changes should always be noted.

I would go to your GP and ask at that appointment for a referral to a gynaecologist. It may be adhesions from the previous surgery causing all this pain to arise, adhesions are sticky strands that tether organs together.

Thanks Atilla. Never thought it could be adhesions, so bloody obvious now I think about it.Blush

I'll ring the GP first thing tomorrow.
