breast pain can anyone calm me ....

having breast pain in right breast when i touch prod it and pain/aching going down to arm , i have been poking it a bit i guess feeling for lumps and in armpit etc , cant feel anything different i dont think, but maybe docs will be better than me ...my period due in weeks time so i didnt think was that ....
i have booked an appointment for after my period to see my doctor as may not be able to tell till thats over maybe ? ...
im 42 ...
and suffer with health anxiety so trying really hard to keep rational thinking ....and not loose the plot ....

ballofworry, I am not a doc but in my experience if your period is due there is no point in rushing it because the doc will ask you to come back three days or so after it starts - if - as is highly probable - this is hormonal, they can't tell until your period has started. That's why self examination is supposed to be done after the period starts. Re underwired bra - my surgeon (and yes, thank you I am fine, lumps were benign fibroadenomas (very common)) said that he would prefer under wiring to be banned as so few women a) wear bras that fit and b) realise that their cup shape changes with hormonal fluctuations on a regular basis. He thought that ill fitting bras had contributed to both my fibroids because of where they were situated.

iv resisted to poke and prod so will again just wait and see ...

i will still go to my doctors appointment a week monday , as then my period will have come and will be 4 days in so will get her to check for me .

interesting about the Bra thing i feel i have to wear under wire and with max padding as i have tiny breasts i feel so awful without , i dont like my breasts they are so small and years past was always teased ..., so now i wear bras that make me look bigger than i am so i can look normal in clothes and feel more confident .
