Hello everyone,

I am not sure if you all remember Kat from this thread I have been talking to her daily since we met on mn. Well she has been doing fantastically well as I am sure you are all aware but for a little while she has been getting cramps like labour pains and last night she went to a&e as they became unbearable. She was admitted and hooked up to a drip and had scans, it appears that something was 'left in' or something that 'shouldn't have been there' was there following her emergency c section and has caused an infection in her womb and now there is a possibility that her ability to have children in future has been affected. Since she has been in hospital her bf has been in touch with me keeping me updated and asked me to post on mn on Kat's behalf.

I am in total shock and wish there was more I could do for Kat and her family, I have my fingers crossed for them all. This is so sad for them all and they have so much to deal with already.

Kat is unsurprisingly feeling very low and missing Tilly. Her bf is doing an astounding job of taking care of Tilly and Kats sister is at Kats bedside and has been the whole time. I was wondering if we could all send her our love, hugs and support and hope for a speedy recovery.

Thank you all in advance and I will update you as when I hear any news xxx

i saw sparklys dd's in SCBU, i spent 24 hours in SCBU with my dd3 and saw 2 28 weekers, all very poorly and needing intervention.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 21/09/2006 16:51

Emskilou - "I'm" not having a go at you. I just fear, as many others here do, that you've been duped by a very convincing troll + friends. A troll I got duped by used similar tactics - she had a 'sister' that posted (it was her!), and other relatives that people had 'spoken' to. She even had links to pictures of her, her sister, children etc etc. But she was a troll through and through./

FoghornLeghorn · 21/09/2006 16:52

emskilou - No-one is accusing you of being a troll at all - you are being a very very kind person but people are concerned we are being duped.

misdee · 21/09/2006 16:53

we are worried you have been sucked in em.

lulumama · 21/09/2006 16:53

Emskilou- i think you need to consider the facts - i am sure no one wants to upset you - you have shown a huge amount of support for kat - whether her problems are real or not -

just based on the fact a 12 week prem, 2 lb baby, is home after 4 days points to this not being true....might be hard to contemplate being taken in by someone after the kindness and compassion you have shown.... i am sure if this is for real then everyone would really be there for Kat and the baby.

it might be kat has some issues she is trying to deal with, rather than she is malicious....

NotActuallyAMum · 21/09/2006 16:54

Emskilou no-one is having a go at you, we just genuinely believe you've been duped - please read HRHQueenOfQuotes post at 4:51

2plus2plus1 · 21/09/2006 17:00

Ditto NAM. I do not beleive you are a troll Emskilou, which is why I didn't link to this thread when I started the discussion elsewhere. But a 28 Wk prem IS NOT VIABLE without extreme medical assitance. I am sorry you have been misled, but unless anyone can provide me with evidence of a 28wk baby being allowed home after 3 days the original thread is a fake. I have been there with 27+5wk twins & it is just not possible...

misdee · 21/09/2006 17:03

29 weeker

Gingeme · 21/09/2006 18:01

Oh bless that ikkle baby. Mmm see what you mean now!

shhhh · 21/09/2006 20:07

IMO, I am in no position to say whether kat is a "troll" or not but tbh it makes me laugh that this idea has only come around following one mner's suggestion..everyone then agrees the same.

TBH I didn't even think beyone the fact that she was ill, I didn't think how old her dd was or the fact that she'd come home within days BUT maybe thats because my only concern was for the fact that kat apparently is unwell.

I feel sorry for Emskilou as she is only passing on a message and letting mner's that are concerned know about her.Emskilou is only telling us what she knows and what she believes to be true, thats all.

Sure kat may be genuine or may be fake but why should we be the judge for that.?

If you don't believe Kats story to be true then it's simple..don't post about her. Its not hard.!!

BTW I'm not looking for everyone to now get on my case, I just think sometimes some people can get harsh treatment.

SaintGeorge · 21/09/2006 20:12

There has been long discussion, not just one post on this thread followed by a horde of posters agreeing.

If you look at the other threads on the subject you will see that there is a list of inconsistencies that make Kat look rather obviously like a troll I'm afraid.

It is sad that people have been drawn in by her story and wasted their time and sympathy.

shhhh · 21/09/2006 20:46

well I am still of the same opinion . I haven't looked into this person in as much deails as some of you have on the chat threda have 9as you refer to), no time to.! TBH I have only taken notice of 2 threads relating to her.

Like I said she may be genuine or may be false..surely if she is not genuine then she needs help NOT "burning" like so many seem intent on doing. I agree it's awful for people to make up stories and to be so genuine when clearly they aren't, it's not worth discussing further. I just feel sorry for people that are like that in real life..obviously they have major issues .

RTKangaMummy · 21/09/2006 20:51

But what about people who have had or in the future have preemie babies in RL

That is why I have a problem with people like this KAT person because I have had experience

shhhh · 21/09/2006 20:57

kanga I totally understand your pov and agree with you but until we know the truth......

It is a shame though that there are people out there who "cash" in on others generosity iykwim.
I take people as I see them which isn't always a good thing in this world.!

stoppinattwo · 21/09/2006 21:24

When I had my two because I had CS with both i was in for 4 to 5 days, i got to meet mums with prem babies. In the womens in Liverpool they dont let babies home until they are ofe 5lbs i think.

stoppinattwo · 21/09/2006 21:25

so i did think she was talking bollox on both threads but didnt know what trollin was

Nemo1977 · 21/09/2006 21:27

stoppin it is 5lbs in womens. I mentioned on another thread that my friend had all her children between 26-29wks. One of her DD unfortunately died but of her others the shortest time soent in SCBU was 8wks and they had to be around 5lb to come home.

SparklyGothKat · 21/09/2006 21:38

its 4lb here, dd2 was a 33 weeker, weighing 3lb 8oz, she was very healthly but SCBU wouldn;t let her go until she was 4lb, she came home weighing 4lb 1oz.

2plus2plus1 · 21/09/2006 21:42

I think mine were 4lb+. They definately weren't 5lb. One may even have been a touch below 3lb. They didn't say anything about a minimum weight.

There was a woman on the postnatal ward (with her baby) when I had DD3. She was frustrated that they wouldn't let her go home until the baby was 5lb. I don't think it was particularly prem, just very low birthweight.

2plus2plus1 · 21/09/2006 21:43

That should have been a touch below 4lb (not 3lb) - please don't accuse me of trolling

Nemo1977 · 21/09/2006 22:05

may be different now as friends youngest is 5.

MarsLady · 22/09/2006 00:31

DT1 was under 5lbs when we came home. She was 4lbs 5 born and lost weight (as they do) and was allowed home with me and her fat twin who started at 5lbs 14.

I have no idea as to whether or not any of you are right about Kat, but I stand by my first post. She's in my prayers.

shewhoneverdusts · 22/09/2006 09:14

Hiya
just to add my twpoence worth. I have had a 33 weeker and a 30 weeker. The first was a healthy 4lb6oz but was a very reluctant feeder who had been resuscitated at birth (placental abruption) after an emergency c.sect. She was kept in for 4 weeks, and allowed home at 5lb. No.2 was 3lb9oz and was on a ventilator and then c-pap and was not allowed home for 6 weeks and was on high calorie formula to help with the weight gain. Don't know if this is genuine but I would say it is so very unlikely that the facts and figures are correct as with most of you my experiences would say not.!
