What are my contraception options?

Just had ds and I know at my 6 week check there will be a discussion about contraception, but I'm not sure anythings going to work with my life!

I had/ have depression, and the pill makes my symptoms worse.
After I had dd I had the implant and I bled continually for 3 months, so had it removed.
Not keen on the IUD because I've heard that an egg can still be fertilised but it's then 'aborted' by the device?
The hormone that's in the depo jab seems to be a stronger version of what's in the implant- so I assume i would react the same?
Condoms arnt too much of a problem, but I struggle with painful and heavy periods and I'd like something that could relieve that, even slightly?!

Am I missing something?!

an IUD does indeed work by preventing the implantation of a fertilised egg.

That doesn't sit right with me or dp, so not really an option. Argh! all I want is no periods ever again and some protection from getting pregnant seeing as both times we ttc it happened not only in one month but with only one try... Blush

The patch?

Can't remember what it's called. Evra?

I can't use oral contraceptives, and the stuff in the implant makes me bleed like a tap so I alternate between the injection and the patch

This tool might help?

I had the injection for years after DD (17) and DD (13) and have only come off it due to the fact it is not supposed to be used for years Sad.

I liked it but it can take up to a year for your periods to stop completely but it is worth persevering with. Also if you do bleed you can top up every 9 weeks instead of every 12 which might make them stop quicker.

Speak to you doctor - mine was brilliant but as I am now old (45) and smoke there is not many options open to me. I was on the pill for a while but it made me feel sooooo crap I came off it and I am a little bit squeamish about having the coil so we now use condoms (TMI).
