does this sound like a frozen shoulder?

Since earlier in the year I've been getting intense sickening pain in my right arm whenever I try to reach for something or lift anything. Ignored it for some time (assumed pulled a muscle etc) then went to GP few weeks ago as was in absolute agony (about same time pain started I had an accident where friend dropped large heavx box from loft onto my outstretched hand from top of loft ladder so thought maybe damaged something then)
GP took a look and pronounced frozen shoulder, no painkillers given and said it would be like it for about 6 months.
Thing is, all the pain is in my upper arm not my shoulder and varies in intensity from a heavxy burning sensation to a jolt like something has stabbed me which shoots down my arm (this is so painful I physically have to stand still and catch my breath as it makes me feel sick) nurofen and paracetamol don't work at all, is it worth getting a second opinion

When I had my frozen shoulder it was virtually impossible to do simple things like put my arm in a coat sleeve or fasten my bra. I did get pain in my arm that my GP explained as being referred pain.

I've had frozen shoulders on the same side twice - the first time a cortisone injection solved the problem pretty quickly but the second time a couple of years later it did nothing and neither did a course of physiotherapy which included heat treatment. The physiotherapist did tell me that eventually frozen shoulders will resolve on their own, but that it could take up to 12 months to go fully. I was eventually referred for manipulation under anaesthetic but when I was called in for operation I was too unwell with another problem and had to cancel. By the time my new date for operation came (about 11 months from first going to see my GP) all the pain and restricted movement had disappeared so the Physiotherapist was correct and thankfully I've not been troubled again.

When I had it, the pain was in my upper arm at the front and I used to get the jolting sickening pain you describe.

I had physio too. Mine took a few years to resolve completely but I only had the sickening pain for about a year of that. The cortisone injection definitely helped.

I remember that the GP did a simple test. Keep your arm by your side then bend the forearm upwards so your elbow is at 90 degrees. Keep your hand facing forward. Then try to move your hand outwards keeping your upper arm close to your side. I couldn't do this at all (nor put my hand behind my back)
