So there it is, throbbing away on my nose, a round, red spotty thing needing attention. Good people of MN, do you have any advice?

TinyPawz · 08/08/2014 20:42

You should know better. Photos are now mandatory.

BoffinMum · 08/08/2014 20:42

You asked for it. Wink

Is it impressive enough? DH thought it was practically invisible.

First a photo.

Then.......

Hot flannel?

Mag sulph paste?

Tea tree oil?

BoffinMum · 08/08/2014 20:43

Hurts

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 08/08/2014 20:43

OK, I will go and get a hot flannel.

OP posts:
AtYourCervix · 08/08/2014 20:43

Poor rosy nosy. Looks sore.

BoffinMum · 08/08/2014 20:46

I am now holding hot flannel on.

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 08/08/2014 20:47

Biscuit emoticon as they won't give us a sporn one.

And it wouldn't take much effort to just reverse the colours. Meanies.

BoffinMum · 08/08/2014 20:57

I have held my coffee mug on it as well now. I am going to go and have a look at it in the mirror.

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 08/08/2014 20:59

Nope. No head. As the actress said to the bishop.

That looks sore. Quinoderm is a fabulous over-the-counter cream that would dry it out and give it a head overnight. In the absence of that, give your nose a wash with hot water, pat it dry and then put a blob of toothpaste in it and leave it to dry overnight. It will help to dry it out and draw a head for you to squeeze.

BoffinMum · 08/08/2014 21:22

I think the toothpaste is a great idea. I will try that, and if there is no joy, I will investigate the Quinoderm. Now while I am on this thread, DS2 came back from scout camp 10 days ago with loads of bites on his forearms and lower legs, that he has scratched a lot and which keep bleeding. He also has massive burst blisters on his feet that won't heal either. I have tried Sudocrem and I am now trying Bio-Oil. Good idea?

For the blisters, I would, using nail clippers, take off all the blistered skin. Then use TCP - it dries them up and stops infection.

TheReluctantCountess · 08/08/2014 22:34

And yes, antihistamine for the bites.

BoffinMum · 09/08/2014 07:46

Woke him up and put blister plasters all over his feet, and rubbed Bio oil over the rest of him, put long pyjamas on him, and then gave him a Piriton tablet before he went back to sleep. Will get some hydrocortisone cream for him later.

Nose looking redder today but no head, so I hope this little pharmacy in the village has Quinoderm.

BoffinMum · 09/08/2014 10:38

I have just looked up the ingredients in Quinoderm and I think I was allergic to this last time I used this stuff as a teenager.

OP posts:
TinyPawz · 10/08/2014 00:14

How is it now?

BoffinMum · 10/08/2014 15:26

Well, I have the Quinoderm 10% and it has made in a lot less inflamed and painful, and has not set off a reaction as I have only put it on my nose. so very good advice. It has saved me having to operate on myself (sorry chaps).

OP posts:
TinyPawz · 10/08/2014 15:28

disappointed Hope it goes away soon

TheReluctantCountess · 10/08/2014 16:55

Glad things are going well.
