Foot pain - Anyone want to play Dr and diagnose me?!

For the last month to six weeks I've had a lot of pain in my feet. The pain is all over really but mainly on the underside of the foot, in the ball of the feet, under the big toe and on the outer edge of the whole side of the foot. It hurts if poked, to walk in any shoes and going upstairs seems to cause ankle pain and pain in the top side of the foot going across where the toes bend.

I've been getting burning pain in my feet at night and in general my feet seem really over sensitive, even wearing socks is uncomfortable at times. I've also developed a lump on one foot which Dr Google tells me is a Ganglion Cyst, not sure if that is relevant.

Plantar fasciitis might be a possiblity but I don't have any heel pain and my pain isn't 'sharp' it is more dull, throbbing, achy and burning.

I'm a bit overweight and flat footed but I've never had difficulty before. I'm struggling to get a Dr appointment.

Any advice?

picture attached - my pain is in the areas marked 8%, 14% and 5%.

I'm not a medical person! But you could try arch supports in your shoes. Have you been doing extra walking lately or wearing different shoes. You really need to see your GP. I had one of those cysts betwen my toes and the GP drained it then it came back. I won't tell you what I did myself as don't recommend it. But it's gone. Touch wood.

I do about an hour of walking every day, I have done for years. I have walking shoes, but I recently bought a very expensive new pair to see if that would help but if anything they are even worse! I've even tried trainers thinking that they are softer and might help, but that just seemed to cause ankle issues due to lack of support and didn't help the other pain at all.

Arch supports is a good idea. Does anyone know if you can see a foot specialist / podiatrist on the NHS these days?

Eyebags this is impossible to diagnose over the internet I'm afraid. I suspect all will be revealed with some gait examination though.

You can still see Podiatrists on the NHS but you may find it more time efficient to see a Podiatrist with a specialist intrerest in biomechanics / musculoskeletal problems.
Good luck

Whoops, meant to say see a podiatrist privately.

I did see the doctor last week who thinks the problem is structural and I need to be referred to possibly get some custom made insoles.

I'm not completely convinced because the pain is there even after resting and sometimes my feet are red and swell. But the doctor did order some blood tests too.

I'm hoping they can get to the bottom of this quickly because it is rather frustrating.

Was going to say don't see a doctor. We know nothing about foot pain! A Podiatrist, physio, osteopath will almost definitely be better at assessing this type of symptom.
