Implanon....should it be Inplanout?

Hello,

Anyone had a bad experience with Impanon?

I had it fitted 2 months ago - and since then have zero sex drive, horrible spots, and pretty constant bleeding.

Does this settle down or am I just one of those people who it doesn't suit?

Help please!

Hm....I would say wait a bit longer...but then, I have only the bleeding probs...still have and I have had it put in a year ago now...but the rest is pretty much normal!
Hopefully things settle for you soon!

Hi I also had a bad experience I had one for about 12 months and bled for at least 9 of those.
lots of women find it is bad for about 3 months then they have no periods at all. would give it at least another month.

I had it for 1.5yrs and had bleeding problems which settled after about 4-6mths. GP gave me tablets to regulate bleeding early on which helped. Worth persisting probably depends on how much you can tolerate the inconvience.

I had mine out after 6 months, as I had the worst moods all the time, bled for 2 weeks a month, and just felt like sh*t.

I thought it was my only option at the time, but I would never do it again.

I had one for 6 months. Had no bleeding, horrendous acne (all over back and chest which I had never had before) and started to feel very very depressed. Was certain it was the implanon so had it out and hey presto all sorted.
My SIL has had one for ages and loves it.
My MIL is a family planning dr, she says that like any contraceptive you have to try it and see - what suits one person isn't going to suit another and as it is so convenient (no missed pills etc) it was definitely worth trying.

It has been good for me, rarely get a period and no other problems, but it is different for everyone unfortunately. I remember the doctor who put it being very firm in letting me know I could have a lot of bleeding and was a I sure, etc, etc

It does seem that it really suits some people and not others. I figure that I will probably give it other 2 months before I give up on the idea - it would be a pain to go back to remembering the dreaded pill every day!

So I guess my next question is - is it tricky to get out?!

I think it depends! It was a bit more fiddly to get out than to have put in as I recall. Think they just made a little nick in the skin under local anaesthetic at one end and sort of pushed it out. Only took about 5 mins. I have a tiny scar on my arm.

This was the latest thread about implanon I could find. I have been on Implanon since March this year, about 6 weeks afterwards I started getting really bad acne on my face, back and chest, like sallyrosie. I have always had problems with acne, sometimes having flare ups, but I'm pretty sure it was never this bad on the pill, and I've never had it on my body before. Apart from that Implanon is great and for the first 6 weeks I loved it! No periods, nothing to worry about, not having to think about it every day. Has anyone else had problems with acne and implanon? Do symptoms ever improve? I really don't want to have to go back to taking the pill every day.
