Anyone know about shoulders?

I've had awful pain in my left shoulder for the last 2 weeks. It's all across the front. Certain movements make me yelp Hmm

It's not so bad if I keep my elbow and upper arm close into my body and just move from the elbow.

I injured my right shoulder a few years back and had an arthroscopy which shower a rotator cuff tear which was stitched up and is fine now.

The new pain in the left shoulder feels just the same as the right one did but hasn't been injured/hurt in any way. I've done the drop arm test which was positive, and one my arm gets to a certain position it just flops down.

I don't want to go to A&E because it's not either of those. Seeing as it hasn't been injured, how long should I give it before I see the Gp?

Have some strong painkillers which take the edge off, but the pain never goes.

Sorry it's so long, but grateful for any advice.

How about going to your friendly local physio/osteopath? They will tell you pretty quick if you need to go to hospital, and if not, they might be able to get you on the road to recovery.

Watching with interest. I have had a sore right shoulder for nearly a year. Couldn't tell if muscular or referred pain from liver/pancreas/stomach or gall bladder. Been feeling much worse so I plan to keep off the vino this weekend and see a DR. Worried!

Thanks Sandthorne but I couldn't possibly afford that at the moment unfortunately.

Millionaire sorry you're suffering too. Mine is definitely from the joint. Is exactly the same pain as the other shoulder, but I injured that one so there was a reason for it to be sore.

GP now and physio referral, which may take a while.

shoulder pain can be caused by all sorts of things not quite right, and a physio will work it out and give you the exercises you need.
