Help ... bit worried about my baby ...

Hello ...
I posted earlier on the feeding thread about DD being a bit under the weather - bit pukey, windy etc today and not particularly happy but I am now a bit worried.

She has been asleep since 7pm (NZ time now 9.50pm) but it has not been her usual 'out cold' sleep. She has been whimpering in her sleep quite a lot. Anyway, I just went to check on her and she had thrown up a bit in her sleep ... not that unusual I know, but the thing is that is isn't milk and is slimey, see through and is streaked with what I can only guess is blood. It was in a patch on the muslin under her cheek ... and dribbling down her cheek.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be ... it seems very strange to me and I am quite worried. She doesn't a temperature ...
What should I do? Is this normal??!!??

Well, we had an eventful night.
DD went back to sleep after my last post at 11pm and DH and I went to bed. I got up at 12.30 to check on her and she was ok.
Then at 3am I woke to her moaning down the monitor ... I crept into her room and touched her face and found it all wet as was the muslin that she has her head on ... I turned on the light and she was asleep, but moaning, in a pool of dark brown slimy blood ...
Woke DH ... phoned the after hours number ... and they told me to phone an ambulance. So I did. Paramedics arrived and carted DD and me off to A and E ...
She was 'observed' ... no more vomit thank goodness but lots of runny green poos ... which they tested and found that she has Rotavirus ... which is gastroenteritis ...
The blood is probably from a small tear in the oesophagus from coughing and being sick (although I still find this odd as her vomiting and coughing has not been violent).
She hasn't had a temp ... and she was smiling away at the doctor and nurses ... so we have been sent home.
I am to watch for dehydration, keep feeding her little and often ... and take her back if I am worried.
I asked the nurse how she could have got it (am very vigilant with sterilising her dummies) and she said it is ridiculously common and DS probably has had it without us knowing (he did have a runny tummy last week) and has passed it on. Very very easily passed on ....
So ... home now ... absolutely knackered ... DH on DS duty and DD and I are going to bed ... night night all and thanks for the help and support...

Love Ghosty ... xx

I would complain to Plunket when you feel up to it. But I'm glad it's sorted now.
