Daughter's growing boobies - she's not even eight yet!

My little girl isnt eight for a few weeks, yet is already developing little peaks on her chest - a couple of friend shave noticed and mentioned it, and my daughter herself is aware and getting very embarrassed. Are any other girls developing this early? I know they all get there sooner these day, but she's still my little girl!

Strange - I was having a conversation with someone about this yesterday. His daughter at 9 has, as he put it, "a full head of hair" and has started growing breasts.

I think pubety does start a little earlier with each generation - presumably it has to slow down at some stage in the future, but.. I started my periods at 11 and my mum was 15. I hope my own daughter isn't too much younger than 11 - I know what you mean about them being your little girl!

My friend has a similar problem with her 9 year old daughter & has already given her sanitary towels for her school bag. If your daughter is a young developer (poor love) then, this might be a good idea.

I had my first period at 9, so get ready! As Alf Garnet would say 'it's yer wimmins 'ormones!!' Make sure you tell her what to expect, my friend at school thought she was bleeding to death!!

Maybe she isn't the only one then! We have had a chat about periods and she thinks its all totally disgusting. maybe I should prepare her a bit more though - although it doesn't seem fair for her to have to cope at such a young age. She still baths with her brother (aged 4) and they are both perfectly happy about it - maybe we should rethink that now. I don't want them to grow up!

My little girl is i and is also starting to grow "peaks". She does know all about periods, etc. as we explained all this while I was expecting our third baby, born October 2001. I know what you mean Sapphire - I think children have to grow up quickly enough without their bodies making them grow up too soon as well, the only unfortunate thing is we can do nothing about it. My daughter has also started to use deodorant - not every day, just days she is doing P.E. in school as she is aware she gets sweaty.

That was supposed to say "my little girl is 9".
