I have an itchy rash on my face(just a contact rash from rubbing on something).

I've tried sudocreme, metanium and aloe vera gel.

Any ideas for anything else that might clear it up quick as its really annoying!

Tub of aqueous cream+tub of Vicks vapour rub. Mix together and pub back in the aqueous tub. Store in the fridge.

I doubt it'll cure the rash but it'll take the itching out. My MW suggested it when I was itching all over and it was miraculously good.

That sounds really soothing for the itching Antoinette, thanks!

I wish the look of it would go away too!

Hope it works for you-try not to touch the rash too much and hopefully it'll be gone soon!

Thanks! I have vicks but no aqueous -I wonder if the dd's dermol cream for their eczema would do....

I have an itchy rash, all over my legs and arms.

It looks and feels like prickly heat and is driving me crazy.

Pharmacist gave me calamine and aqueous cream so I'm currently marooned on my bed covered in white cream desperately trying not to itch Sad

ThatBloodyWoman · 21/07/2014 21:10

Oh yes! Thats what I used when the dc's had chickenpox.

I'd forgotten about that!

You poor thing TheCircle Sad

I appreciate the sympathy, it's mainly in my arse and thighs so I'm pretty pissed off!

I think it's an allergic reaction to new washing powder, always use bold 2 in 1, got a different scent and bam-
Am covered!

And I've had to re wash 2 loads of washing, 1 load of towels and some spare bedding.

Thecircle · 21/07/2014 21:17

Ok so it's not IN my arse, it's ON it. In would be worse I suppose

ThatBloodyWoman · 21/07/2014 21:18

Oh thanks for that Polter.

That Avene cream looks brilliant -I may invest in some as I know this rash will re-occur as the contact will re-occur, so it sounds like it may be worth it!

I've been taking anti histamines since Sat night, no real improvement.

I've not tried hydrocortisone, I'm assuming I can buy it over the counter? I've never had an allergic reaction in my life

Sorry for the thread hijack op!

Thanks polter, will call at chemist before work tomorrow.

I could scratch my elbows and bum cheeks off

Appliedapple · 21/07/2014 21:33

I was going to suggest Dermol - brilliant stuff, but I've not used it on face, though.

Hot weather makes rashes even more unbearable. Sympathies to all!

ThatBloodyWoman · 21/07/2014 21:38

Thecircle its not a hijack, don't worry!
