12 week vaccinations

DS had his 8 weeks jabs done on schedule. Now I've just realised that owing to nurse sickness, appointment bureaucracy and me generally being shit/busy, he will be nearly 15 weeks when he gets his '12 weeks' Hmm

How bad is this? I am hugely pro vacc and was so prompt with DS1. Are there any risks to this? I presume his next set - 16 weeks - will have to wait a month now?

Hopeful bump

no risk - just less protection in the mean time. And yes, the 16 week will turn into 15 weeks plus 4 = 19 week then. Really not a big deal.

Thanks Catherina - I knew this was the case really but just feel guilty!

don't feel bad - that's just life - you'll be caught up in no time - hugs.

If you're so pro vaccine, you would have thought you would have made a bigger effort to turn up for them before now.

It's no problem, my DC2 has been the same - jabs at 8 weeks, 15 weeks and 20 weeks!

Trinpy · 25/07/2014 21:47

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my ds had his 12 week jabs at 13 weeks because my gp surgery couldn't fit him in before then. I arranged his next set of jabs for exactly 16 weeks (this Monday). I was only told to book in for 16 weeks - should I have waited until 17 weeks? I'm worried now!

I would check again with the nurse Trimpy, I think there needs to be a 4 week space but could be wrong.

Trinpy - it would be worth postponing for a week. The shots should be 4 weeks apart or more for the immune system to react appropriately. There is no danger in doing them more closely spaced, but they might not take as well.

thanks I will check Smile .
