Coccydynia?

I've had tailbone pain since giving birth. The tip of my tailbone feels very prominent and is very sore when pressed, I have pain every time I sit down and stand up.

I put up with it for over a year then saw the GP who gave me a course of painkillers. They helped a bit but the pain is still there. I've used a ring cushion, got some exercises from the internet, tried ice packs etc.Its not life threatening pain but I think "ouch" every time I get up or sit down.

DD is now 21 months old and this has not improved at all. That's a long time and not good is it? I could take pain killers every day I suppose but not sure that's ideal for the rest of my life!

I'm about to make another GP appointment but I got the feeling there wasn't much they could do last time. Childbirth was a very difficult forceps delivery and clearly has caused this problem.

Is there anything I can do or am I stuck with this pain for life?!

My ds has terrible coccyx pain although he hasn't given birth Smile. He got seriously fed up and has been seeing a chiropractor which has helped immensely. Apparently he had a lot of tension in his neck.

He's actually just fallen on it and having to go back but it's really helped him.

I have this too! I had terrible coccyx pain during my first pregnancy but was fine afterwards and during my second pregnancy. But since DD was born I have had a lot of pain again. I think my coccyx is bent from a bad fall I had quite a few years ago and pregnancy/birth have aggravated it. I haven't been to GP yet because I'm hoping it'll get better (DD is 6 months). I might think about a chiropractor when I return to work and can afford it.
