NIghtmare last night - ds2 had first ride in ambulance!

That's it really - ds2 (4 months)from being absolutely fine was suddenly HUGELY sick whilst in the baby sling with dh (he'd put him facing forwards which I think retrospectively was a mistake ), then went totally white and floppy and really really cold. Phoned NHS direct, they sent ambulance, went down to Childrens Hospital A&E, in the ambulance of course ds2 was grinning away, still a bit pale. They checked all his obs, was fine, waited 4 hours to see doctor(!), he was absolutely fine, got home 2.00 this morning. Got to bed at 2.45, and had to get up at 7 this morning.

Anyway, thank goodness he's fine, no idea what caused it - any ideas?

Gawd tortoiseshell - what a nightmare. Glad everything turned out okay. No ideas though.

oh hun thats awful for you
so glad he's fine
no idea what it could have been

Mum2FunkyDude · 10/09/2006 15:10

Is it possible that he pinched a major vein or artery that could've caused him to pass out?

tortoiseshell · 10/09/2006 15:58

I'm thinking it's either that he was a bit shaken about in the sling, or had a little bug or something. It was extremely scary though!

has anyone else any ideas what else this might have been? M2FD - I suppose that's possible, but he didn't 'pass out' as such, just went very very pale.

thanks yg! He seems fine today. It's just a bit weird the way it came on. Anyway, he seems ok now.

Just found out a friend's boy had a similar thing, at the weekend, so I guess it's a bug of some sort. Phew.

Probably a bug - but babies can have what is not technically known as a "clusterf*ck" reaction....a little kind of CTRL/ALT/DELETE moment where they sort of pass out because of the shock. He might have really frightened his little self being so sick

tortoiseshell · 11/09/2006 13:20

That's really interesting - that's EXACTLY what I would describe it as! I've never heard of that before but it does make sense. Thanks!
