Anyone got rid of cherry angioma/spider naevi?

Has anyone had one of these and got rid of it?

I have on my face this little raised red spot with lots of blood vessels radiating out.

I can't afford to have it lasered.I'm very self conscious. Is there anything I can do about it?

Look at the Sterex website and you should be able to find a practitioner near you who will be able to treat

kazzawazzawoo · 06/07/2014 10:57

I can't afford that sort of treatment.

Is there any other way of getting rid of them?

There is no DIY treatment for something like that- you'd need medical help such as laser or minor surgery. Maybe save up - and meanwhile use a really good concealer?

EssexMummy123 · 06/07/2014 11:10

If you do a search on here, im sure someone got it lasered for £40 as it was such a small area it was treated as a patch test.

IHeartKingThistle · 06/07/2014 11:22

I have two of these on my face - one since I was a kid and the other has appeared recently to join it Angry. One didn't bother me but I'm not loving having two. Can't help but watching with interest!

Thanks.

I'm struggling to find a concealer that will cover it well. I don't wear foundation because I have psoriasis. So when I apply concealer it's too obvious.

I hoped there was a way of ... pricking it or something.

I emailed a local clinic, they said 3 to 4 treatments at £40 each. I can't afford that Sad

I had one. I had very expensive laser treatment with a well respected dermatologist. The initial results were good. But after 3 treatments and 9 months (and so many £ I'm too embarrassed to admit) the fucker is back. I think it's fed by deeper vessels that the laser cannot get. I find the bare minerals concealer covers it reasonably well when I can be arsed.

That's interesting bonzo. I will look for the Bare Minerals concealer and not worry too much about lasering for now.

I had one on my cheek years ago. I went to a beauty salon and she did electrolysis on it.
Was years ago but cost about a tender and never came back. She cauterised it,a little scab formed and that was it.

FoodieToo · 06/07/2014 13:18

Tenner obviously lol!

kazzawazzawoo · 06/07/2014 13:24

Foodie have you got a scar where it was? Did it hurt?

I've got loads on my body Hmm and they ALL seem to be in pairs!

What I would LOVE to have removed are the intradermal naevi on my face which make me look like nanny mc-fuckin-phee.

Lasering etc is just so expensive.

FoodieToo · 06/07/2014 13:37

No scar, was painful for about ten seconds. Just like a heated needle being applied.
Not painful actually really. Just a bit uncomfortable.

scarfaceace · 07/07/2014 12:06

I had one years ago and had it cauterized. It was done on the NHS, and at my GPs suggestion. It was a quick procedure, momentarily painful, and it's never returned. It was on the bridge of my nose.

PetulaGordino · 07/07/2014 12:07

mine disappeared over time (not helpful)

PetulaGordino · 07/07/2014 12:09

not wanting to scaremonger, but if you have more than a handful (five or so) it's worth checking with the doctor as it can be a sign of underlying problems

kazzawazzawoo · 07/07/2014 12:22

Thanks Smile

I read that if you have quite a few it can be down to liver problems?

Thankfully I only have the one, but it's on my right cheek and very visible and I am very self conscious about it.

I will ask my gp about having it cauterised.
