Obviously not with the kids, but is there any chance I coukd carry something? I don't want to put her at risk.

No, you could be carrying the virus even if you are personally immune. I wouldn't risk it

itiswhatitiswhatitis · 05/07/2014 20:36

Have no idea but I wouldn't go not worth the risk.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 05/07/2014 20:37

Don't think I would.

Sorry, that's not very scientific just my gut reaction.

Hope your dc are ok, and your aunt.

I wouldn't risk it - not worth it - talk to Aunt on the phone.

TheOneAndOnlyAlpha · 05/07/2014 21:15

No. My parents looked after ds when he had the pox for a day. They weren't allowed to visit my gran in her care home in case they carried the virus.

AuntieStella · 05/07/2014 21:16

Talk to your aunt, or perhaps a Macmillan nurse.

It's very unlikely you'll be infectious (unlike some, this virus doesn't live that long on surfaces), but in these circs I'd be hypercautious.

Thanks all. It's just that I will mess her around hugely as I have a caring role and was giving respite to my cousins.

I'm sure she'd rather I messed her around than set her back though, but I wanted to check.

McMillan is a good idea - thanks.
