I found tiny amounts of whatever took my fancy but to be honest, I think while you are in its grip, very little helps Hmm I remember it had to be really bland - like a dry cracker - with DS. With DD it had to be sweet and not taste too grim on the way back up Shock

Go and ask the doc for some Cyclizine if you really can't hold anything down. I'm still taking it now into week 39/40 and it's the only reason I'm not dead.

On the upside I've only put on about a stone in the whole pregnancy. I'd like to say it's been worth it but tbh it totally hasn't. I'd rather be the size of a whale and have not gone off every single food in existence that isn't ice cubes and oranges.

Hi- sorry you are suffering Lindsay. Are you able to keep sips of water down. I would do as OP has suggested and very little amounts of something that you fancy (usually fairly bland ime) when you can. Sucking ice cubes/ice lollies can help a little. Please go to your dr for advice as it is no fun to end up severely dehydrated in hospital on a drip. Several medications may be prescribed in pregnancy, cyclizine being the first line. Lots of info and support on the Hyperemesis awareness thread over in pregnancy. www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk also full of helpful advice.

Morning sickness felt like I was being poisoned for 9 months, that constant nausea, getting up to be sick in the night, awful. At term, I had gained 1/2 stone.
The only things that I could stomach at its worst were ready salted crisps, dry biscuits and water. An empty stomach used to make things worse so try and nibble little and often. I sympathise.

Oh! This brings back memories. In those days there was no label for it. Doctor and hospital plied me with tablets of all kind. Couldn't bear the sight of food; by six months I was able to nibble dry biscuits and cheese and similar snacks. Didn't have a meal for nine months. Fainted all over the place and sick continually. However, was able to take baby home wearing the then fashionable H Line to calls of "look at her". Baby was 7 pounds ten ounces. It was a hard way to stay slim as I hadn't gained anything.
