I know there's no magical cure for day to day tiredness, but does anyone have any practical tips / strategies for getting through that bit of the day when you feel like you just have nothing left energy-wise but have to / want to carry on with work / looking after the DCs / cooking / time for hobbies etc? Here's hopefully Smile

apart from the obvious things like caffeine, more caffeine, and a sugary snack, sometimes a change of scene helps - getting out for 30/60 mins with the kids tget fresh air. If you are not averse to execise it can help, particularly yoga I think because too much makes you more tired.
I used tdo a bit of yoga when I felt like this and it felt like it got the blooflowing again, have bad circulation anfeel the col easily
OR phone someone and have a convo about something you are feeling strongly about, the mind can "switch" into a diff gear when you have activated your attention hth

oh and I always find the smell of lime "wake =me up"a bit, but it might be diff for everyone

If you can spare ten minutes, try this, it's really relaxing and does re energise.

A walk helps.

YY to a little sugar rush. I've been told off for saying that on here before and someone has rushed along and said something lofty about healthy, slow release of energy foods but IME nothing works like a square of chocolate or small piece of cake!

V interesting thread - I know the feeling exactly and no a lentil wrap will not help Grin.

I'm currently experimenting with a two minute shower finishing with 30 secs of cold - and change of clothes when I get in from work. Then a cup of tea and a piece of dark choc (not milk or I eat the lot).

Sugar becomes a bit of a vicious cycle. I was trapped in the energy trough-biscuits-energy trough-biscuits routine and the tiredness was getting worse.

It doesn't suit everyone but I've found since I've been on a low carb (and therefore low sugar) diet my energy levels are so much more balanced. I don't have that wave of exhaustion mid-afternoon.

And I've lost a couple of stone which is quite the bonus.
