What is wrong with my right leg (DVT? blood clot??)?

For the past ten days or so my right leg has been achey - feels heavy, little bit like 'pins and needles' also as if there is a tourniquet tied at the top and it feels like the rest of my leg has 'gone to sleep' a bit.

I first noticed it when I was lying down having a rest at lunch time.

Now I am aware of it all the time even when I am walking around.

I can't see anything on the leg - doesn't appear to have swelling/redness/hardness etc that one associates with a DVT (my mum had one and also aneurysms so I am starting to worry a bit...)

I remember having a similar sensation (same leg) years ago but it must've cleared up by itself - only lasted a day or so. Also used to get the same sensation when I lived overseas and travelled a lot on long haul flights.

I have called the GP and it is an open clinic this aftn so I will go and hope to get seen before school pick-up.

Could it be a DVT? What else could it be??

Not sure. But I'd go get checked out to be safe.

It could also be a lower back problems, with trapped nerves causing the pins and needles. Definitely get it checked out.

It doesn't sound like a DVT but you are doing the right thing getting it checked out. Hope it is something minor.

Is your period due? I get weird leg stuff like this just before my period

Could be due to inactivity but def get it checked If you are worried about DVT do not start widely exercising Sitting on a chair and gently tapping your toes for 10 secs might help
