Hi, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to my question but I need some back up from Mumsnet! My husband has lost a temporary filling and is in agony. He's taken ibuprofen but has found a tube of Orajel that expired in November 2013. He thinks he can use it but it might not work as well, whereas I don't think he should use it at all...who is right?! (Please say me or I'll never here the end of it! Grin )

I'd probably use it because I probably wouldn't have checked it was in date.
Not helpful I know Smile

He'll be fine!

Use it.

Grrr, now I've got to put up with his smug "I told you so" face!! To be honest, if it helps with the pain he's in, I'm happy to be wrong. Thank you all for replying! Smile

I posted a similar question this morning.

Personally, if go ahead and use the stuff, and go to the pharmacy tomorrow morning.

SixImpossible · 21/06/2014 00:10

Ugh. I'd go ahead, not if.

Oil of cloves is amazing for reducing dental pain. I doubt you have any (its not exactly a common essential oil, like lavender), but he could try holding a whole clove in the cavity.
