I didnt think the active ingredient in migraleve was sumatriptan?

25 years of migraine suffering here!
Migraleve doesnt work for me.

Echoing other- I would take 3 dispersible aspirin in water, and 2 paracetamol with a small, strong cup of coffee.
(Don't take Nurofen/ibuprofen iv you are taking the aspirin)
You can buy the anti sickness tablet, Buccastem, over the counter in a pharmacy. You pop it under your top lip to absorb. It s the same anti sickness tablet you get in Migraleve pink.

I can't take sumatriptan so i try and take anything i can!

misspops are you not allowed anytging prescribed?

misspops · 30/08/2018 12:54

The Dr ‘prescribed’ me dispersible aspirin !
Regarding preventatives- I have RX’s for propanolol, pizotifen... both make me feel inhuman! Never been offered anything else. Had a CT scan many years ago. The migraine centre in London is a charity that offers appointments - that’s my next step, as there are new medications available that the NHS will not prescribe.

misspops change docs!! My gp has changed my migraine medication multiple times until i found one that suited me!
I even asked to try one ( an expensive one) that was recommended to me and she agreed, life changing!
She arranged for me to see a neurologist to get me on preventive medication.
I no longer have migraines every week.
I Used to take propanol, i was told the dosages the gp’s are allowed to prescribe do not do anything for migraines.
