Have always been a freckly sort, and have often had various skin blemishes checked out over the years. Noticed a large freckle pop up on my face recently, looked it up on the internet Blush and wondered if it might be a lentigine.
As I was seeing the GP about something else, I showed it to him, along with a few other moles on my back. He barely looked at those on my back (which are numerous and quite large), dismissing them all straightaway as "fine." However, he kept examining the one on my face (the least offensive one of the lot) and said "hmm, we need to keep an eye on that one." He's measured it, advised me to cover it with sunblock at all times, I must go back in 3 months for him to check again, but if it changes colour in the meantime, go back straightaway. He was particularly concentrating on the fact that one edge of it is already possibly darker than the rest.
Should I worry about this, forget about it until it alters appearance or go back and ask for it to be referred sooner? I have private health insurance if this would speed things up.

I would as I have health anxiety, so if you need reassurance and have private healthcare, then I'd be going for peace of mind.

Otherwise I'd be constantly fretting and checking etc.

If I was "normal" and trusted my gp, then I wouldn't be worried about waiting to see how things went.

Second opinion needed! Never risk it with freckles/moles.
