headlice - I just can't get rid of the eggs

Right i've had enough. dd2 is suseptable to headlice - only has to look at someone with them and she has them, but this time I just can't get rid of them, the eggs are well and truly stuck.

I've combed it through after washing everyother night. I spray it with teatree and lavender repellant but to no avail and now i've got them and so have dd3 and ds. arghhhhhhhhhh

Tonight i am going to leave conditioner in all our hair in the hope that in the morning I can wash and comb all the eggs out, but any other ideas appreciated.

OK, you don't have to remove the eggs. Once hatched they become a pearly/white colour. Unhatched eggs are browny/black.

If t=you can see the white ones, you don't have to get rid of them, as they have already harched.

If you want to do it for cosmetic reasons, wet the hair and put on conditioner. Graps the hair shaft and using your finger nails , slide the egg sac to the end of the hair, where you can then remove it.

It is laborious, but it does work. my nit comb doesn't shift the egg sacs

mum used to comb them out of us or failing that pick out all the visible ones.

Little b**tards aren't they

as martian says the empty ones wont hurt. when empty they are much thinner so slip thru the comb teeth.
just pick out the ones that can be seen.

ahha i knew you lot would have an answer. When I found them I combed hundreds of eggs out and live ones but since then they have been tiny little lice (most of them anyway with the odd bigger one)but yes the ones i can't get out are white so obviously hatched ones.

Always use the lice comb but so brilliant at putting it somewhere safe where i'll know where it is I have lost another one today > off to hunt it out or buy another new one. There must be a black hole in this house for lice combs lol
