Cervical erosion - getting cauterised (sp)

I have erosion and I'm in the process of getting a referral from the GP. Has anyone had the procedure, cauterisation (sp) and if so, what is it like? I have 2 young kids, will it affect every day life much?

I assume it's a day surgery type of thing but if anyone has had it please let me know the reality of it.

This thread is older but just want to encourage you not to worry about the cautery. My medical team were lovely. Quite enjoyed some alone time in the hospital!!! General anaesthetic was like a pinch. Cautery was painless. After a slight stingy sensation. And yes, watery discharge is totally normal and can drag on for a bit. So long as it is watery and doesn't have an unpleasant odour. Drink lots of water post procedure to ward of a UTI. Don't swim and shower if possible instead of baths. No sex for 2 weeks. The only thing is that he must have missed some cells as it hasn't entirely sorted itself so will see what Dr says at my check up. Everyone has different pain thresholds and mine is fairly good but it is meant to be simple enough so give yourself a mental break from worrying 😘

I had the procedure to cauterise my ectropian 3 and a bit weeks ago. It seemed to go ok. I still have a small light brown discharge which has reduced significantly. However, it smells like garbage. The doctor took a swab and said there is no infection but I can’t understand the smell. Is it normal for the smell to continue until the brown discharge completely stops? Thank you in advance! 😘
