Has anyone ever heard of the drug Centrapine?

Just that really; not sure if that's the proper spelling. What is it and what is it prescribed for?
A friend called me today; she has been off work for some time due to depression. She was talking 19 to the dozen and informed me she had just put two newish fridge freezers outside on the pavement because she no longer needs them as she has had only ever used them to store fish fingers ,and she and her son don't eat them. I am a little concerned to say the least. I couldn't get over to see her as I was working at the time.
I suspect she might be bi polar although she has never mentioned this,
Googled the name of the drug she told me she was prescribed but came up with zilch.
I'm going to see her tomorrow as I'm concerned, but whatever she's been prescribed it isn't making her any better.

carbamazepine?

(I take it for epilepsy also used to treat bipolar disorder)

She said it was centrapine I'm sure, it might be the a trade name. Her mood worries me. Her son is very sensible and takes care of himself; also spends half the week with his father. She on the other hand needs some support. I don't know what I can do, she is very high at the moment but I'm worried she'll get herself into debt or do something rash. She has no close relatives or friends. I'm not a close friend but I do care about her welfare.

I believe you mean Quetiapine, it's an anti psychotic used mainly to treat schizophrenia, bi polar disorder, and major depressive disorder.

Seroquel is the brand name in the UK.

Whatever she's taking it hasn't stabilized her mood. Who can I contact for support ( please don't suggest MIND, they are all potty themselves) Would it be worth finding out who her GP is and speaking to them? She recently tried to give me her cats and said they didn't need feeding as they could quite happily fend for themselves. I have no concerns about moggies, they are being fed and de flead; probably by the kindly old lady next door that puts out food for them.

Her gp would probably be the best person to approach. Some meds can take a wee while to work, not sure how long quetiapine takes tbh, but establishing a good blood serum level can take up to a fortnight with other meds.

Could it be Sertraline? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sertraline
