Ok, well I can't spell it - but I need to have one fairly soonish

Has anyone had one? what can I expect? (apart from a sore under-carriage )

my friend from work had one - internal piles I think. She had it at a private hospital & was fine.

FWIW I had a burst pile & I need to have the excess skin "tidied" up at some stage (bf new baby, so won't be a while).

How bad are yours ?

MissPollyHadaDolly · 30/08/2006 00:39

not too bad,

sometimes i think i could put up with them, others days though, its a complete pain in the arse

also booked into private hospital, so would at least get my own room (and my melon starter arranged into a fan shape on top of a paper doily)

in a way, i would quite like them to have a rummage up there, just to make sure nothing else going on.

Dunno though, just can't get excited about it, also run my own business and need to drive, so worried about recovery afterwards.

A nice soft cushion should help. I have a 75p one from Ikea, which was great at the height of my pain !!
Oh & regular paracetomol - couldn't take anything stronger because pregnant.

1 dsp Linseeds x2 a day soaked in water also helps...

good luck !

mny dad and my nan both had it done. i was a bit young to remember both ops but i know that my dad has no problems at all now. i've had piles since giving birth 14 months ago and dad reckons i will need them done (as he puts it). i feel for you as i know its not nice. how did you get them to decide to operate? all they give me is things to put up my bumb which is no use as i can't get passed the piles!

My sister had one last year. It's laser now, so not so bad.

My dh had this op a few years ago. Very straightforward apparently, although tender to sit down for a few days. Worst worry was having bowels open for first time afterwards. He said it was ok though.
