been feeling ill for a few months now.
started with thrush which ive now had 3 times in 6 weeks.very sore and itchy .used otc canestan tablet and cream.
still hasn't gone completely and along with that is a very sore itchy bottom.
pain/bloating of my stomach and nearly daily diarrhoea. everything I eat seems to upset my tum.
I have near constant tiredness and geographical tounge which is sore and I can't seem to get rid of my sinusitis.
have read on the Internet and I think it could be candida ? has anyone got any experience of it and what are the treatments?
have booked to see gp on Thursday. can't come soon enough its all getting me downSad

Could be. I'm cutting out all yeast and sugar from my diet along with soy, marmite, mushrooms, balsamic vinegar , tropical fruit and bananas. This list was given to me by Gp .
Am also taking probiotics.

Just to warn you though sugar is in everything!

what symptoms did you have and did they test somehow?

Hi there,
I am on a candida diet at the moment (seeing a consultant who thinks I have it) and in my case it seems to be contributing to a chronic headache (as in constant for a year) and CFS symptoms. From what i've read, your symptoms sound like they could well be candida.

I have been on a diet for 3 weeks so far (likely to be followed up with nystatin an antifungal) but i do already feel slightly better despite being chroinically ill for quite some time now. I have been told to stop all sugar sources incl fruit, most carbs and to increase protein and good fats ie animal, nuts, flaxseed, coconut, olive oil (as the alternative energy source) with alot of vegetables (except root) and juicing. It is fairly drastic but i dont care if it helps! I have read on alot of candida sites that Stevia is ok in moderation.

My impression is that GP might diagnose you with thrush and treat that but won't acknowledge that you could have a candida problem in your gut, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

how did you get to see a consultant ? did you see gp and did they not acknowledge candida ?
what about dairy ?

seen the gp today she thinks I need a longer course of the thrush treatment so one tablet for the next seven days.
also thinks I have ibs which I have had in the past which is why I rarely eat bread products. if I think of it the runs started when I ate pizza last week.
took a vaginal swab to test for thrush and sent me for blood tests , full blood count and coeliac disease.
refused to believe that candida could be the cause for all my symptoms and said only thouse who have very low immune systems could get it.
she thinks its more down to stress and my marriage ended three months ago.my choice but its been hard being a single mum.

Riverside and wonderingwendy, how did the diets work for you? I'm currently doing the same thing and trying to find people who have done it before!

It sounds very much like it - a way to find out without seeing a nutritionist or naturopath is the spit test - although it isn't conclusive or to be used in isolation - Google spit test I am 10 weeks into an anti candida plan - I have a thread on here called 3 weeks into anti candida. I've listed what I'm doing what I've researched and read.
Stress is a big contributing factor as it lowers your immunity - I lost my dad and my brother in the space of a few years then my mum got Alzheimer's. It's blew up recently after we'd moved house and gone through a big refurb. Good luck
