Hoping that's what I have, waiting for gastro appt.
Been on anti imflammatories (diclofenic) and bowels changed to diarrhea 5-6 times a day. Came off and never gone back to normal. Now my symptoms are:
Poo as soon as I get up (mushy like number six on the Bristol stool chart!)
Tummy aches before a bowel movement. (Relieved after)
Lots of wind with the bowel movement
Feeling of not being finished.

It's really getting me down xx

Yeah I will do. I have no idea why my rheumatoid factor is high yet but there is probably a link between auto immune diseases and ibs...

I've found eating small amounts regularly helps. Also exercise - nothing major, more not sitting at a desk all day, so regularly getting up and moving / walking. Cutting out gluten's helped me a lot.

Glad to see this thread, and sorry to ask my own question, I have been told I have IBS for many years now and have all the same symptoms as the rest of the posts, but I go from chronic gripes and diarrhoea to hard pellets, sorry if too much info and lately have been having pains in stomach mainly on left, up side as well as lower down which burns, but sometimes on the right as well, poo all different colours, with all this bowel cancer stuff about lately how can you be sure that we do have IBS, I was actually thinking of making a GP appointment today, but I hate going as they just say IBS. I have also lost 4lbs in a month without trying so I am panicking, as not sure wether you lose weight with IBS

Go get checked young, as any change to regular habits is worth at least asking about. My IBS has escalated lately so I went back to the GP. It used to be far more low level. With me they did full blood tests (inc. coeliac) and I've had an ultrasound. Everything came back clear but it was reassuring to have the tests.

The only thing that has worked for me is cutting out carbs. I can now tolerate things like crap white bread but wholegrain is a no go.

Mine is massively of the 'd' variety and I've had to have time off work in the past after being up all night with cramps and on the loo.

I have found GP to be generally a bit crap - I pushed for a coeliac test which came back negative and their advice was to dose up on loperamide as and when needed which when bad could have been three times a day for a couple of weeks which I wasn't happy with.
