I had this in both feet after the birth of dd back in May 2011. It was agony getting up in the morning and I ended up living in Birkenstock shoes for months and months or insoles in work shoes etc after seeing a podiatrist. I had ds in August 2013. Suddenly in the last few weeks I have been getting the same symptoms particularly in my right foot. I know post pregnancy hormones are the culprit, but this late on?! It is almost 9 months since I had ds...does it mean another visit to the podiatrist?... agony from heel up leg and underneath feet especially after lying down or sitting... I haven't damaged or done anything out of the ordinary which might have caused this so ruling out an accident to the foot! help any advice?

I had this about three years ago. I found the only footwear that was helpful was fitflops. I saw a foot doctor, who helped a bit, but time was the best healer. It took about 18 months to get back to normal.

I have this now, and have had it for the last 2 years, when I was pg with ds3. I've seen the physio, podiatrist, and I've worn insoles for the last 8 months. It's so annoying!

Do Birkenstocks help? I need some sandals and I was wondering about walking sandals but I like the look of Birkenstocks.

I have found they do help.. just a shame I can't wear them when I return to work in a few weeks...

Have you had the steriod injections into your heel? It hurts like hell but it does help.
