I go but I can feel more needing to come out . If I sit for a while and move position it empties.
Sometines I have to wait a good few minutes, for example I'll go in the morning and then when I 'm in the shower go again (sorry tmi)

I have Lupus but my rheumatologist didn't think it was connected.
Any ideas?

Hmm. I have this too. Is it just a 'getting old' thing, do you think?

Is it possible that you have a prolapse Coco? A bladder prolapse is called an anterior prolapse and can cause problems with emptying the bladder fully.

Have a look at this link and see if any of it sounds familiar.

There is something called irritable bladder. But I had similar symptoms a couple of months back and it was thrush. Could possibly be cystitis?
All guesses I'm afraid.

I have had a bladder repair a few years ago and a hysterectomy 2 years ago . I wondered if my bladder and bowel may have fell a bit. I have some trouble emptying my bowels as well. Does that sound possible ?
I was told that I would feel my bowel dropping into the space left my womb.

I'm such a catch Grin

It's called double-voiding and is fairly common. Happens to me after abdominal hysterectomy when the nerves were damaged. Just be aware that you are not emptying your bladder fully when urinating and do what you are doing, by waiting and changing position and then going again. Some people find it helpful to get up and walk around a bit. I've had lack of bladder sensation and double voiding for 5 years without any UTIs or other complications.

Oh, I had a referral to the continence clinic after my pelvic floor was mangled due to a traumatic birth.

They drew me a wee diagram showing that there is some sort of a bend in the, er, urethra (?) that can result in some of the urine getting sort of pooled in there, but if you empty your bladder, then stand up, sit down again, wriggle round a bit, it should allow you to pee just a little bit more.

Having said that, you know what I'm going to say. Go see your GP, get it investigated properly.

Littlefish · 27/04/2014 22:59

I think it might be worth asking to be referred back to whoever did your original operation so you can be checked over.

If you are having trouble emptying your bowels, then it could be a rectocele too. Do you go, and then feel like you need to go again shortly afterwards?

Oh thanks everyone, good to know it has a name!

No I don't feel I need to go again, but I have to push on my perinium(sp) to empty my bowels fully.

Coco - sounds like it might be the aftermath of the hysterectomy (like me!) I was diagnosed while still in hospital and a scan showed there was still about 100ml of urine in my bladder when I thought I'd emptied it totally. I was warned beforehand that a TAH can damage bowel and bladder nerves.

Littlefish · 27/04/2014 23:06

The need to push on your perineum to "encourage" the poo out can be symptomatic of a rectocele. Try very, very hard not to get constipated.

Phone your GP tomorrow and go and have a chat if you can Coco.

Thanks again, I probably wont be able to see my dr for a few weeks but will make an appointment .
