Opting out of immunisations?

We have been offered the TB Jab for DD and DS as we are in a 'high risk' area, but after saying no I have had health visitors plagueing me like locusts.
They have been to the house twice to explain the benefits, and sent several identical leaflets to our house.
DS had a really bad reaction to his last set at 4 months old, so I am nervous, and DH is anti jabs altogether, but it seems we are given no choice.
Is it fair for them to hound us like this when they are optional, or should I get a good slap and just get them done ?

Hi
My twins have had no vaccinations at all and are now 21 months old. It is a tough decision but I believe I have made the right decision. They are the healthiest children have never had antibiotics or any ear infections. I researched this matter thoroughly . I found a lot of useful information at www.informedparent.co.uk
Good luck Twinmum2

NO, it is NOT on for them to hound you when the jab is not a routine part of the programme.

I suggest you write a letter to the practice manager of the surgery, explaining your wishes and asking them nicely to please desist hassling you about it.

Not on ofr them to hound you even when it IS a part of the routine jabs.

I've called my H.V, who is the only nice one out of the 5 we've dealt with.
She apologised and said they too are hounded as they have targets set by the goverment and get a telling off if they lag behind other clinics in % of immunisation rates.
Since when did child health care become a competition?
It makes me so angry.
