DD (very nearly 13).

Had a temp of 40.0 yesterday evening.
Gave ibuprofen and paracetamol.
Phoned 111. They arranged a nurse to call me back 3hrs later.
In the meantime her temp had come down to 37.6 so they closed the case.
she also had a headache.

When she woke this morning her temp was 38.0. I told her to take ibuprofen which I have just found out she didn't do because she didn't want breakfast (I told her she had to eat first).
She was sick about 30mins ago.
bit of a headache.
just taken her temp and it is 39.7.
I've just got her to take the ibuprofen with a biscuit.
shes in cool clothes with a sheet to keep her skin covered. Hands and feet are freezing.

Do I need to seek further medical attention given how high her temp is?
She had her HPV vaccination yesterday. Should I report it via the yellow card system (?) As a potential adverse reaction?

www.nhs.uk/Conditions/vaccinations/Pages/hpv-vaccine-cervarix-gardasil-side-effects.aspx - looks like the side effects can be fairly common

Might be a reaction to the vaccination, lots of teens do feel quite poorly afterwards. I'd report as a possible reaction.

Keep her comfortable, lots of fluid, monitor her. Call GP if you are worried at all.

www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2569.aspx?CategoryID=73&SubCategoryID=102 - you could also alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen to help maintain pain relief/temperature control

Ty.

I'm happy with medicine regimes etc.

Like i say it is purely the fact that her temp is so high that concerned me.

temp is coming down though.I

Dd1 had a rotten reaction to her third HPV vaccination. Very similar to your description, high temp but no sore throat or any symptoms to suggest a normal viral infection. The temperature did come down after a few days, but she needed two days off school to recover. She was fine with her first two jabs.

Thanks.

This was her third too.

she is otherwise well. I think even the vomitting is a reaction to the extreme temperature.

She seems a lot better this afternoon though. Temp whilst still high isn't as high. Shes had no ibuprofen since 11ish
