elongated cervix/prolapse

Hello, I know I can join the prolapse thread and will but started own thread for bit more traffic?

I have lots of prolapse and have previously had burch, anterior and posterior repair - abdominally, then another baby, and now got it all badly again. But the worst is the elongated cervix - which protrudes a lot when I ovulate and makes me miserable, usually its just inside, but gets worse every month during ovulation and if I lift too much, run about too much etc etc. I have dealt with this for 14 years but this is the worst it has ever been (cervix wise - which I know is also uterine prolapse) and I am finding it a little bit depressing. I would really like to avoid hysterectomy for the time being, am not totally against it - I just wondered if there was anyone out there who had had surgery specifically for this. ie manchester procedure, cardinal ligament suspension - no mesh. I suspect I will eventually end up with vault prolapse if I go hysterectomy route and am trying to avoid as long as possible.

I think I should also get back to exercise, as I did feel better when I exercised - no running though. I have moved house twice in 7 weeks so the lifting hasnt helped.

I really just want the doc to amputate the lower part of my cervix but from what I have read this will not solve the problem. The uterus is likely to prolapse further.

OK, time for a glass of wine, TIA for your help.

I had an anterior and posterior repair for a prolapsed womb a few years ago and my advise would be to continue doing the exercises given at the time of your operation to hopefully strengthen your pelvic floor. My procedure was done via the vagina but I'm lead to be believe that I was reupholstered using mesh. I would pop to the GP just to get checked out once again.

Thank you trump, my surgery was in 2001 and i have prolapsed a lot since then. The exercises do help and I need to continue doing them. I see my gynae regularly - and am scheduled for surgery in August. Just not sure what!!! I mean that the particular surgery I want to have is my choice but I don't know what to do for the best, not that I don't know what is happening.
