Why have my periods changed?

Before I got pregnant my periods were every 4 weeks and what would come out was fairly thick and dark.

Since having DS my periods have been regular still but what comes out is pure blood, it's not thick what so ever and often leaks allover because of this!!

Does this mean anything? I feel quite worried about it but don't know if I'm being daft

Sorry that I can't give you an answer but wanted you to know that you're not alone. The same thing happened to me too soon after I stopped breastfeeding ds. We had been trying for another baby for over 2 years (given up hope now) but I often wonder whether the change in periods is relevant - thinner blood and no clots (sorry tmi) to my mind says lower hormone levels. I'm only 34 but am guessing have just been unlucky this time round. I had a hysteroscopy about 18 months ago and nothing unusual was found so I think it might be just one of those things. Would be interested in anyone else's thoughts / experiences.

More oestrogen/less progesterone?

Bigger or changed surface of uterus?

Mine changed after dd1, used to be 5-7 days of heavy bleeding, changed to 2-3 days of moderate, so I was happy with the change. No idea why, but conceived dd2 quickly so I assume it is physical (eg change in uterus shape or size) rather than hormonal for me.

I'm hoping it doesn't mean anything bad fertility wise and that it's just what happens to some.

The periods are the same in regularity and how long they last just they used to be thick and now just liquid. I'm pleased about period pains stopping though!

Just curious as to why the change of texture it seems odd to me but I don't know anything about periods really!
